Cangjie Temple is located in Shiguan Town, Baishui County, Weinan City. It was built to commemorate Cangjie, the ancestor of writing. Cangjie Temple faces Huanglong Mountain in the north and Luohe River in the south. It is unknown when it was founded, but according to the "Cangjie Temple Stele" records, the temple has a considerable scale in the fifth year of Yanxi in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 162), and has a history of more than 1,800 years.

Cangjie Temple sits from north to south, surrounded by earthen walls, high walls and thick walls, with a complete layout. The whole group of buildings from south to north on the central axis are Zhaobi, Shanmen, front hall, newspaper hall, nave, sleeping hall, and tomb. On both sides of the main building, there are east and west theater buildings, bell and drum towers, east and west wing rooms, etc., with a total of 70 houses. Most of the existing buildings in the temple were built in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, with gorgeous decoration and strong local color.

There are 18 ancient steles preserved in the temple, among which "Cangjie Temple Stele", "Cangsheng Niaoji Book Stele", "Guangwu General Stele", "Shi Da Song Canggong Stele" and so on are all precious objects in the history of Chinese calligraphy. In 1975, "Cangjie Temple Stele" was moved to Xi'an Forest of Steles Museum.

The ancient cypresses in the temple courtyard are towering, lush and lush. There are 48 ancient cypresses that are thousands of years old. They are also known as the three ancient temple ancient cypresses in China together with the ancient cypresses of the Yellow Emperor Mausoleum in Qiaoshan and the ancient cypresses of Qufu Confucius Temple in Shandong. Among them, there is an ancient cypress beside the mountain gate called "Shock Thief Cypress". According to legend, a thief wanted to enter and steal in the past. In addition, there are many ancient cypresses with their own characteristics, such as "Magpies Dengzhi", "Two Dragons Playing Pearls", "Danfeng Chaoyang", "Kuixing Dianyuan", "Qinglong Playing Cypresses", Baolian Lanterns, " "Dragon claw cypress", "cypress holding pagoda tree" and so on.
