Chenlu Ancient Town is located on the top of a mountain 15 kilometers southeast of Yintai District, Tongchuan. According to records, the ancient town of Chenlu got its name from the "Display of Pottery Stoves". Chenlu is the only remaining porcelain base in history that has "fired for thousands of years". It can be called a miracle in the history of ceramics and has the reputation of "Oriental Ceramics Ancient Town". Chenlu Ancient Town is also the only hometown of ceramics among the cultural and art towns named in Shaanxi Province.

Chenlu Ancient Town has beautiful mountains and rivers, and the ceramic culture has a long history and profound accumulation. According to historical records, "the pottery field is three miles from north to south, and stretches for five miles from east to west. The fire is mixed and bright all night." . The folk customs of Chenlu are closely related to ceramics, and folk houses, folk meals, and folk arts contain rich ceramic cultural connotations. Chenlu dwellings have a long history. The pottery belly, pottery pits, pots and walls are arranged along the mountains, densely like a beehive; the tile pavement is rich in oil painting effect and has ornamental value, known as "the art under the feet".

Chenlu town has a history of more than 1,400 years of porcelain making. It is the only kiln that continued to produce the famous ancient Yaozhou kiln after the Song and Yuan Dynasties. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, it created an annual output of 8 million pieces of porcelain. As early as the Tang Dynasty, there was a record of "turning the flame in the hearth" of Chenlu Pillow Bone Porcelain Kiln. The porcelain industry reached its peak in the Northern Song Dynasty, and it was famous for firing blue, white, black and sauce glazed porcelain. It is an important porcelain production base in Northwest China. Its porcelain products are mainly daily life utensils such as bowls, plates, basins, jars, bottles, boxes, lamps, and stoves, as well as some display utensils, offering utensils, porcelain carvings, etc., with a variety of glaze colors.
