The former residence is located on the land of Shaoshan Village, Shaoshan Township, Shaoshan City, Hunan Province. It faces south and faces north. It is a "concave" building with a civil structure. The total construction area is more than 400 square meters. The main attractions are the former residence of great men, the Bronze Statue Square and the Dripping Cave. In 1961, it became a national key cultural relics protection unit. In July 1997, it was selected as the first batch of national patriotic education bases by the Central Propaganda Department. In December 2016, the former residence was included in the "National Red Tourism Classic Scenic Spot List".
