The Jialing River Source Scenic Area is located on the top of the Qinling Mountains in the southern suburbs of Baoji City. The famous Jialing River originates in the Jialing Valley at an altitude of more than 2,800 meters in the scenic area.
The scenic spot at the source of the Jialing River has a high forest coverage rate, and there are many rare animals and plants. There are many peaks and stones in the scenic area, and the famous ones are Shennong Herb Picking Stone, Big Sword Stone, and Horse Pile. The weather in the mountains is changeable, with hazy morning fog, vast sea of clouds, sunrise and moonset, colorful lights, heavy snow in May, forests, seas and snow fields, etc., all of which are scenic spots at the source. The astronomical landscapes such as sunrise and sea of clouds are spectacular. Famous scenic spots include: Ancient Dasanguan Ruins, Heshangyuan Ancient Battlefield, Songyang Lianli Flower, Shennong Herb Picking Stone, Heilongtan, First Waterfall of Jialing River, Origin of Jialing River, Primitive Fir Forest, Sun-watching Terrace. At present, entertainment activities such as horse riding, archery, zipline, and bonfire party have been carried out in the scenic area.
