The Moleqie River Valley petroglyphs are located at the northern foot of the Altun Mountain about 180 kilometers southeast of Qiemo County, on the rocks of the mountains and hills on the east and west banks of the Moleqie River, at an altitude of 2570-2600 meters. The petroglyphs are mainly concentrated on the mountainside on the east bank of the Moleche River Estuary, and there are also some petroglyphs on the rocks on both banks about 1 km downstream. Rock paintings vary in size and lines. Thousands of petroglyphs are carved on black rocks ranging from 20 meters to 80 meters high on riverbeds and cliffs.
Despite thousands of years of sun, rain, wind and sand erosion, most of the pictures are still very clear. Judging from the existing situation, these petroglyphs have a wide range of subjects, including relatively concentrated wild animals and domesticated livestock, various grazing scenes, images of celestial bodies such as the sun, moon and nebula, grass that appeared early on the grassland, and ancient mountain people's pastures. , fierce tribal wars, cheerful and enthusiastic primitive dances, primitive marks marking the germination of nomad numbers, collected imprints and various mysterious symbols, etc. Compared with the petroglyphs in Altai and eastern Tianshan Mountains, they have their own characteristics due to their large number, rich content and exquisite art.
