The Underground Inverted Stone Forest is located in Jiuxiang Scenic Area. It was originally called the Bat Cave. It got its name because most of the stalactites in the cave hang upside down from the ceiling and resemble bats.
The whole landscape seems to get rid of the effect of gravity and become slanted sideways. The growth method is quite peculiar. From a distance, it looks like a stone forest hanging upside down, hence the name. But why are the stalactites here curved? That is due to the different temperature differences inside and outside the cave, which form winds in different directions, and these stalactites themselves have capillary straws that can transport water and form water droplets. When the calcium carbonate is about to precipitate, it is blown away from the vertical direction by the wind, thus forming a sideways and oblique state.
The air in the karst cave where the underground stone forest is located is fresh and smooth, and the temperature is cool and pleasant, as if equipped with natural air conditioning.
