The Water God Hall is located on the Guanglinghu Mountain. There are springs gushing out around the mountain from the foot of the mountain. After the pond is filled, it merges with the Huliu River to form a lake with a size of more than 100 mu. The Water God Hall sits in the middle of the lake. The houses are built against the mountains, and the winding paths make people feel like entering a fairyland, like entering Penglai, so it is known as "Little Penglai".
Water God Hall, formerly known as Yangshui God Temple, was first built in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, and Wenchang Pavilion was added during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, and its name was changed to Water God Hall. It integrates the three religions of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. It is a complete group of Ming and Qing buildings, and has reached a very high level in architectural art.
Hanging on the gate of the Water God Hall is a vertical plaque inscribed by Zhu Xiudu, Guangling Zhi County, during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Looking to the east, there is the entire Hushan boulder, which is the accumulation of magma ejected during the late volcanic eruption. The rocks are maroon, dark red and black.
"Jiujiang Notre Dame Temple" and "Guanyin Nunnery" are the main buildings of the Water God Hall, equipped with east-west viewing halls and dragon and tiger corridors. There is a seven-level brick tower more than four feet high in the courtyard. There is a pavilion in the northeast corner, and there is a hexagonal pavilion up the stairs. The Baigong Society in the temple is located on the west side of the Notre Dame Hall. It was originally the place where the three religions and nine streams worshiped the ancestors. Therefore, the statues are Laozi, Luban and Confucius. The original statue has been destroyed. In recent years, the statue has been rebuilt and the murals have been restored, but the front murals have not been preserved. The murals are very rich in content, fully reflecting the handicraft industry and people's living conditions in the Qing Dynasty.
