Yaowang Mountain is located about 1.5 kilometers east of Yaozhou District, Tongchuan City. It was called Panyu Mountain in Tang Dynasty and Wutai Mountain in Song Dynasty. Sun Simiao, a well-known medical scientist in ancient China in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, retired here in his later years. Sun Simiao was called the "King of Medicine" by later generations, hence the name of Yaowang Mountain. Since ancient times, this place has been the central place for people to commemorate Sun Simiao. Every year at the "February 2" temple fair in the lunar calendar, tourists gather from all directions to express their respect and remembrance for Sun Simiao.
There are still Jin and Yuan buildings and large-scale Yuan Dynasty murals on Yaowang Mountain. Visitors can also enjoy the Ming Dynasty Yaowang Hall and the Medicine Prescription Stele. In addition, there are more than 50 scenic spots such as Taixuan Ancient Cave and Medicine Washing Pool. There are more than 40 cliff statues in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, which are exquisite. Among them, there are more than 100 steles from the Northern Wei Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty, which are very precious. There are more than 200 steles in the past. There are also many stone carvings such as stone towers, sarcophagi, and stele squares for tourists to watch.
