Yunshe Scenic Spot is located at the foot of the mysterious Fanjing Mountain and on the banks of the picturesque Taiping River, 1.5 kilometers away from Jiangkou County and 10 kilometers away from the south gate of Fanjing Mountain. Yunshe Village is more than 1,500 meters above sea level, with steep mountains and lush bamboo forests. There is Shenlongtan in the village and Taiping River in front of the village. The flowing water sings happily all year round. During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, the ancestors of Yunshe valued this piece of land and moved here to make a living by making paper, and the papermaking craftsmanship was passed down from generation to generation. There are two wonders in Shenlongtan: one is that it is unfathomable. More than 30 young people each took a basket of ropes, connected them to long ropes and tied a large stone and sank into the pool. The second is that it can predict the weather. The fluctuation of this spring has always been a precursor to local weather changes. Shenlongtan Spring has a large flow rate, excellent water quality, sweet and delicious, and has been the source of life for the Tujia people in Yunshe Village for drinking and farmland irrigation since ancient times.
Tongzi House is a characteristic Tujia ancient building in Yunshe. Its structure is generally composed of main house, side house, surgery building and chaomen. It is surrounded by walls and is also called Fenghuozi. Most of the barrel houses are brick and wood structures. The yard and eaves are paved with bluestone slabs. The four solid walls are high brick walls with bluestone feet. They are ladder-shaped when viewed from the side, and all have cornices. Generally, the eaves and stone piers have exquisite reliefs, and the window lattices of the buildings are mostly hollowed out. The mountains, rivers, vegetation, insects, fish, birds and animals are all lifelike.
The beauty of Yunshe's scenery comes from the fact that there is no artificial carving, and the beauty of Yunshe's folk customs comes from the original folk customs. The ancient village of Yunshe will always maintain a proper distance from the ordinary world, and will always maintain the simplicity, purity, detachment, and indifference of the ancient village in the fairyland beyond the clouds and at the end of the sky.
