Jacksonville is a city located on the Atlantic coast of northeast Florida, the most populous city proper in the state and is the largest city by area in the contiguous United States as of 2020. It is the seat of Duval County, with which the city government consolidated in 1968. One of the important airports, it is a national first-class civil international airport, a major domestic trunk line airport and an international scheduled flight airport.

Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport was opened to traffic on October 6, 1972. In 1984, 1992, 1999 and 2005, the airport was expanded and upgraded successively.
