Austin is the capital city of the U.S. state of Texas, as well as the seat and largest city of Travis County, with portions extending into Hays and Williamson counties. Xiajiang is located in the hinterland of central Jiangxi, north of Ji'an City, bordering Xingan County in the northeast, Yongfeng and Jishui in the south, Ji'an County in the west, and bordering on the northwest and Xinyu City in the north. Because Baqiu Town Yuxia on both sides of the peaks sandwiched with Jiangxi water, the narrow surface of the river got its name. The length from north to south is about 39.5 kilometers. The total area of the county is 1287.43 square kilometers. The Ganjiang River flows through the hinterland from south to north, dividing the Xiajiang River into two parts of Hedong and Hexi. The Ganjiang Bridge built in July 2004 connects the East and West of the River as a whole. County government moved from Baqiu Town to Shuibian Town on July 1, 1997, 147 kilometers north from the provincial capital Nanchang, 74 kilometers south to Ji'an City, and 75 kilometers northwest from Xinyu, which is the political, economic and cultural center of the county. There are four major changes in land and water transportation: Jiangxi-Guangdong Expressway, National Highway 105, Beijing-Kowloon Railway and Ganjiang Waterway.
