Boston (US: /ˈbɔːstən/), officially the City of Boston, is the state capital and most populous city of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as the cultural and financial center of the New England region of the United States. Boston is one of the oldest municipalities in America, founded on the Shawmut Peninsula in 1630 by Puritan settlers from the English town of the same name. It was the scene of several key events of the American Revolution and the nation's founding, such as the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, the Battle of Bunker Hill, and the siege of Boston. Upon American independence from Great Britain, the city continued to be an important port and manufacturing hub as well as a center for education and culture. The city has expanded beyond the original peninsula through land reclamation and municipal annexation. Its rich history attracts many tourists, with Faneuil Hall alone drawing more than 20 million visitors per year. Gongliu is located in the middle of the Yili River Valley, on the south side of the upper reaches of the Yili River, at the northern foot of the Narati Mountains, a branch of the Tianshan Mountains, and in the middle of the Yili River Valley, surrounded by Xinyuan, Nilk, Yining, Chabuchal, Tex and Hejing County of Bayingoleng Mongolia Autonomous Prefecture. It is 83 °35'in longitude 81 °34 in east longitude and 43 °38 in latitude 42 °54 in north latitude. The total area of the county is 4528 square kilometers. It now has jurisdiction over 5 farms in 6 towns and 2 townships, living in 23 ethnic groups, including Han, Kazakh, Uygur and Hui, with a total population of 208000 (including 8060 bingtuan). "Gongliu" is the name proposed when the county was founded, which seems to be named after the Gongnai River. According to the manuscript of "Gongliu County Chronicles" during the period of the Republic of China, Gongliu County had a vast territory at that time, so it was ordered to "Gongliu" after the words "Gongjis and Teksta".
