Mawei District (ancient Fuzhou Minxian) is under the jurisdiction of Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, located in the east longitude 119 °37km, north latitude 25 °29km, located in the southeast coast of China, the north bank of the lower reaches of the Minjiang River, 17 nautical miles away from the Minjiang Estuary, is an important military port in Fujian Province and the water gateway of Fuzhou.
