Qingyang District, which belongs to Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, formerly known as Xicheng District, is located in the core area of Chengdu. It is the concentration place of the party, government and military organs in the western region and Sichuan Province, and the headquarters of the organs of the Sichuan Provincial CPC Committee, the western war zone and the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Chinese people's political Consultative Conference. Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, IATA: CTU, ICAO: ZUUU), located at the junction of Shuangliu District and Wuhou District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, China, about 16 kilometers northeast from the center of Chengdu, is a 4F international aviation hub , one of the eight major regional hub airports in China   , an aviation hub and passenger and cargo distribution center in China's inland areas.     
The predecessor of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is Chengdu Shuangguisi Airport, which was built in 1938. On December 12, 1956, Chengdu Shuangguisi Airport was renamed Chengdu Shuangliu Airport.   On November 30, 1995, Chengdu Shuangliu Airport was approved to change its name to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. On August 9, 2012, Terminal 2 of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport officially opened.

In 2019, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport handled a total of 55,858,552 passengers, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%, ranking fourth in the country; cargo and mail throughput was 671,903.9 tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.0%, ranking sixth in the country; aircraft movements were 366,887 Flights, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%, ranking fifth in the country   .
