Las Vegas (US: /lɑːsˈveɪɡəs/; Spanish for "The Meadows"), often known simply as Vegas, is the 25th-most populous city in the United States, the most populous city in the state of Nevada, and the county seat of Clark County. The city anchors the Las Vegas Valley metropolitan area and is the largest city within the greater Mojave Desert. The city bills itself as The Entertainment Capital of the World, and is famous for its luxurious and extremely large casino-hotels together with their associated activities. It is a top three destination in the United States for business conventions and a global leader in the hospitality industry, claiming more AAA Five Diamond hotels than any other city in the world. Today, Las Vegas annually ranks as one of the world's most visited tourist destinations. The city's tolerance for numerous forms of adult entertainment earned it the title of "Sin City", and has made Las Vegas a popular setting for literature, films, television programs, and music videos.

Zhaoyang District is under the jurisdiction of Zhaotong City, located in the northeast end of Yunnan Province, located in the combination of Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan provinces and the heart of the national "Panxi-Liupanshui" economic development zone. Weining County, Guizhou Province in the east, Ludian County in the south, Jinyang County in Sichuan Province across the Jinsha River in the west, and Yiliang, Daguan and Yongshan counties in the north. It is the seat of the Zhaotong Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government and the center of political, economic and cultural activities in Zhaotong City. It has jurisdiction over 3 streets, 3 towns, 10 townships, 129 villages and 49 communities. Zhaoyang District has convenient transportation, including the Neikun Railway, Kunshui Highway, Zhaowei Expressway and Zhaotong Airport. The city is 341 kilometers away from the provincial capital Kunming, 550 kilometers from Chengdu, 580 kilometers from Chongqing and 450 kilometers from Guiyang.
