Los Angeles (US: /lɔːs ˈændʒələs/ (listen) lawss AN-jəl-əs;[a] Spanish: Los Ángeles [los ˈaŋxeles], lit. 'The Angels'), often referred to by its initials L.A., is the largest city in the state of California and the second most populous city in the United States after New York City, as well as one of the world's most populous megacities. Los Angeles is the commercial, financial, and cultural center of Southern California. With a population of roughly 3.9 million residents within the city limits as of 2020, Los Angeles is known for its Mediterranean climate, ethnic and cultural diversity, being the home of the Hollywood film industry, and its sprawling metropolitan area. The city of Los Angeles lies in a basin in Southern California adjacent to the Pacific Ocean in the west and extending through the Santa Monica Mountains and north into the San Fernando Valley, with the city bordering the San Gabriel Valley to its east. It covers about 469 square miles (1,210 km2), and is the county seat of Los Angeles County, which is the most populous county in the United States with an estimated 9.86 million residents as of 2022.

Xiangcheng District, under the jurisdiction of Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the center of Suzhou. Xiangcheng District is located in the southeast of Jiangsu Province, China, with Yangcheng Lake and Kunshan to the east, Taihu Lake to the west, Wuxi and Changshu to the north, Suzhou Ancient City, Suzhou Industrial Park and High-tech Zone to the south. As of July 2018, Xiangcheng District has jurisdiction over 4 towns, 4 streets, 1 provincial economic development zone, 1 high-speed rail new town and 1 tourist resort: economic Development Zone, Yangcheng Lake tourist Resort, Yuanhe Street, Beiqiao Street, Taiping Street, Huangqiao Street, Weitang Town, Yangcheng Lake Town, Huangdai Town and Wangting Town. Xiangcheng District has 3 expressways and 14 crossings, such as Beijing, Shanghai and Sujiahang. It is one of the most important transportation hubs in the Yangtze River Delta. It has a total area of nearly 490 square kilometers and a population of nearly one million, including permanent residents.
