San Antonio (/ˌsæn ænˈtoʊnioʊ/ SAN an-TOH-nee-oh; Spanish for "Saint Anthony"), officially the City of San Antonio, is a city in Texas, United States. The city is the seventh-most populous in the United States, the second-largest in the Southern United States, and the second-most populous in Texas. It is the 12th most-populous city in North America, with 1,434,625 residents in 2020.
Founded as a Spanish mission and colonial outpost in 1718, the city in 1731 became the first chartered civil settlement in what is now present-day Texas. The area was then part of the Spanish Empire. From 1821 to 1836, it was part of the Mexican Republic. It is the oldest municipality in Texas, having celebrated its 300th anniversary on May 1, 2018.
Shule County is located in the southwest of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous region, northwest of Kashi region, bordering Jiashi and Yuepu Lake County in the east, Yingjisha County in the south, Aktao County in Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture in the west, and Shufu County in the northwest, facing Kashi City and Shufu County in the north across the Kizil River. Shule County has a total area of 2262.75 square kilometers. Shule County has jurisdiction over 3 towns and 12 townships. Shule Town has Uygur, Han, Hui, Uzbek, Kirgiz, Tajik, Mongolian and other ethnic groups. The county people's government is stationed in Shule town. In 2008, Shule County achieved a GDP of 2.51 billion yuan. There are Zhang Qian Park, Zhang Qian Memorial Hall, Shule History Museum, Science, Technology and Culture Center, Nurlan Garden, Baiguo Ecological Park, Yafuquan Desert Populus euphratica in Shule County.
