Wichita (/ˈwɪtʃɪtɔː/ WITCH-ih-taw) is the largest city in the U.S. state of Kansas and the county seat of Sedgwick County. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 397,532. The Wichita metro area had a population of 647,610 in 2020. It is located in south-central Kansas on the Arkansas River.
Wichita began as a trading post on the Chisholm Trail in the 1860s and was incorporated as a city in 1870. It became a destination for cattle drives traveling north from Texas to Kansas railroads, earning it the nickname "Cowtown". Wyatt Earp served as a police officer in Wichita for around one year before going to Dodge City.
Yuecheng District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the west of Ningshao Plain and the northern foot of Huaiji Mountain. In 490 BC, Yue King Gou Jian moved the capital and built the city. Huiji County in Qin Dynasty and Yuezhou in Tang Dynasty once became the temporary capital of Southern Song Dynasty and the place where King Lu supervised the country at the end of Ming Dynasty. Shaoxing was liberated in May 1949, and Shaoxing City (county-level city) was established, followed by Shaoxing County and Shaoxing area, which is the seat of Shaoxing County and Shaoxing District Administrative Office. In July 1983, Yuecheng District was established in Shaoxing City, which is now the seat of Shaoxing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal people's Government and the political, economic and cultural center of Shaoxing City.
