New York, often called New York City[a] or NYC, is the most populous city in the United States. With a 2020 population of 8,804,190 distributed over 300.46 square miles (778.2 km2), New York City is also the most densely populated major city in the United States, and is more than twice as populous as second-place Los Angeles. Home to the headquarters of the United Nations, New York is an important center for international diplomacy, an established safe haven for global investors, and is sometimes described as the capital of the world.

Lianping County is located in the north of Guangdong Province, under the jurisdiction of Heyuan City, adjacent to Heping County in the east, Quannan County and Longnan County in Jiangxi Province in the north, Dongyuan County and Xinfeng County in Shaoguan City in the south, and Wengyuan County in Shaoguan City in the west. It is the first county where National Highway 105 enters Guangdong and the county government is stationed in Yuanshan Town; the county is located in the upper reaches of Xinfeng River and is rich in resources. It is known as the "hometown of non-ferrous metals" in northern Guangdong. Lianping County has a total area of 2365 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 13 towns, 159 village committees and 16 neighborhood committees. by the end of 2018, the total population of the county is about 413000.
