Luqu County was officially established in June 1955. The main specialties of Luqu County are Tibetan mastiff and fern hemp pig. Zecha Stone Forest in Luqu County is not only one of the three famous tourist attractions in the county, but also a famous tourist attraction in Gannan Autonomous Prefecture and even Gansu Province. In 1998, Zecha Stone Forest was listed as a national nature reserve together with Gahai Lake.
