Liwan District, Guangzhou Municipal District, is located in the west of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, connected with Yuexiu District in the east, Baiyun District in the north and northwest, and Nanhai District in Foshan City in the west. Liwan, commonly known as "Xiguan", gets its name from "Lizhi Bay", which has a reputation of "a bay of green water and red litchi on both sides of the strait". It is known as "Xiguan", "Lizhi Bay" and "Shuixiu flower fragrance". It has a good reputation of "experiencing Lingnan culture to Guangzhou, but not visiting Liwan". It is one of the three old districts of Guangzhou. During the Ming Dynasty, it was already an important port for China's foreign trade and cultural exchanges. During the Qing Dynasty, it was China's only foreign trade window for more than 100 years. Liwan District is the core area of the central city of Guangzhou and Guangfo metropolitan area, with "first Street and second Road".
