Memphis is a city in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It is the seat of Shelby County in the southwest part of the state; it is situated along the Mississippi River. With a population of 633,104 at the 2020 U.S. census, Memphis is the second-most populous city in Tennessee, after Nashville.

Memphis is the fifth-most populous city in the Southeast, the nation's 28th-largest overall, as well as the largest city bordering the Mississippi River. The Memphis metropolitan area includes West Tennessee and the greater Mid-South region, which includes portions of neighboring Arkansas, Mississippi and the Missouri Bootheel. Boai County is located at the southern foot of Taihang Mountain, northwest of Jiaozuo City, and adjacent to Zezhou County of Jincheng City in the north. It is bordered by Jiaozuo City in the east, Wuyi County and Xiuwu County in the east, Qinyang City in the west and Geqin River in Wenxian County in the south. In 2018, the county's GDP increased by 8.2%, the added value of the tertiary industry increased by 7.5%, and the total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 11.5%.
