Memphis is a city in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It is the seat of Shelby County in the southwest part of the state; it is situated along the Mississippi River. With a population of 633,104 at the 2020 U.S. census, Memphis is the second-most populous city in Tennessee, after Nashville.

Memphis is the fifth-most populous city in the Southeast, the nation's 28th-largest overall, as well as the largest city bordering the Mississippi River. The Memphis metropolitan area includes West Tennessee and the greater Mid-South region, which includes portions of neighboring Arkansas, Mississippi and the Missouri Bootheel. One of the more historic and culturally significant cities of the Southern United States, Memphis has a wide variety of landscapes and distinct neighborhoods.

Zhaojue County, which belongs to Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province, is located in the southwest of Sichuan Province, between 27 °45 degrees north latitude and 28 °21 degrees east longitude and 102 °22 degrees east longitude. It is located in the heart of Daliang Mountain, 100 kilometers west of Xichang, the state capital. It is bordered by Meigu and Leibo County to the east, Jinyang, Butuo and Puge County to the south, Xichang City and Xide County to the west and Yuexi County to the north. The county is 95.28km long from east to west and 66.15km wide from north to south, covering an area of 2699 square kilometers. In 2010, Zhaojue County had jurisdiction over 1 town and 46 townships. By the end of 2012, Zhaojue County had a total population of 268400. There are mainly Yi, Tibetan and other ethnic groups, of which the Yi accounts for 97.6% of the total population. Zhaojue is a county with a large Yi population in China, Qiji Shiza, Suoji, Adu and Yinuo.
