Memphis is a city in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It is the seat of Shelby County in the southwest part of the state; it is situated along the Mississippi River. With a population of 633,104 at the 2020 U.S. census, Memphis is the second-most populous city in Tennessee, after Nashville.

Memphis is the fifth-most populous city in the Southeast, the nation's 28th-largest overall, as well as the largest city bordering the Mississippi River. The Memphis metropolitan area includes West Tennessee and the greater Mid-South region, which includes portions of neighboring Arkansas, Mississippi and the Missouri Bootheel. One of the more historic and culturally significant cities of the Southern United States, Memphis has a wide variety of landscapes and distinct neighborhoods.

Xinyu City, under the jurisdiction of Jiangxi Province (prefectural level), an important member of the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, is located in the west-central part of Jiangxi Province, in the west of Zhejiang-Jiangxi Railway, 101.9 kilometers from east to west, 65 kilometers from north to south, 150km east from Nanchang, the provincial capital, Zhangshu City and Xingan County in the east, Yuanzhou District, Yichun City in the west, Qingyuan District, Anfu County and Xiajiang County in Ji'an City in the south, Shanggao County and Gaoan City in the north. Xinyu City has a total area of 3178 square kilometers. According to the geomorphological map of Jiangxi Province, the geomorphology of Xinyu City belongs to the middle and low mountains and hilly areas of western Jiangxi. The basic landforms can be divided into six types: low mountains, high hills, low hills, hills, terraces and plains. Xinyu City has a subtropical humid climate with four distinct seasons, mild climate, sufficient sunshine, abundant rainfall, long frost-free period and short severe winter.
