Jixi City, a prefecture-level city of Heilongjiang Province, is located in the southeast of Heilongjiang Province, separated from Russia by the Wusuli River and Songacha River in the east and southeast, bordering Mudanjiang City in the west and south, and Qitaihe City in the north. It covers an area of 22500 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over Mishan City, Hulin City, Jidong County and six districts. Jixi, founded in 1957, belongs to the cold temperate continental monsoon climate, with mountains, hills and plains as the main topography. Lin Mi Railway, Chengji Railway, Heda and Jihu Expressway run through Jixi City. By the end of 2018, the total registered population of Jixi City was 1.727 million. In 2018, Jixi City achieved a GDP of 53.52 billion yuan, an increase of 5.0% over the previous year, and local revenue of 3.89 billion yuan, lower than that of the previous year.
