The Kansas City metropolitan area is a bi-state metropolitan area anchored by Kansas City, Missouri. Its 14 counties straddle the border between the U.S. states of Missouri (9 counties) and Kansas (5 counties). With 8,472 square miles (21,940 km2) and a population of more than 2.2 million people, it is the second-largest metropolitan area centered in Missouri (after Greater St. Louis) and is the largest metropolitan area in Kansas, though Wichita is the largest metropolitan area centered in Kansas. Alongside Kansas City, Missouri, these are the suburbs with populations above 100,000: Overland Park, Kansas; Kansas City, Kansas; Olathe, Kansas; Independence, Missouri; and Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Liwan District, Guangzhou Municipal District, is located in the west of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, connected with Yuexiu District in the east, Baiyun District in the north and northwest, and Nanhai District in Foshan City in the west. Liwan, commonly known as "Xiguan", gets its name from "Lizhi Bay", which has a reputation of "a bay of green water and red litchi on both sides of the strait". It is known as "Xiguan", "Lizhi Bay" and "Shuixiu flower fragrance". It has a good reputation of "experiencing Lingnan culture to Guangzhou, but not visiting Liwan". It is one of the three old districts of Guangzhou. During the Ming Dynasty, it was already an important port for China's foreign trade and cultural exchanges. During the Qing Dynasty, it was China's only foreign trade window for more than 100 years. Liwan District is the core area of the central city of Guangzhou and Guangfo metropolitan area, with "first Street and second Road".
