The Kansas City metropolitan area is a bi-state metropolitan area anchored by Kansas City, Missouri. Its 14 counties straddle the border between the U.S. states of Missouri (9 counties) and Kansas (5 counties). With 8,472 square miles (21,940 km2) and a population of more than 2.2 million people, it is the second-largest metropolitan area centered in Missouri (after Greater St. Louis) and is the largest metropolitan area in Kansas, though Wichita is the largest metropolitan area centered in Kansas. Alongside Kansas City, Missouri, these are the suburbs with populations above 100,000: Overland Park, Kansas; Kansas City, Kansas; Olathe, Kansas; Independence, Missouri; and Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Qianjiang, a county-level city directly under the jurisdiction of Hubei Province, is located in the Jianghan Plain in the central part of Hubei Province, with the Han River in the north and the Yangtze River in the south, located in the lower reaches of the Han River, across the Dongjing River and the upper and lower Xijing River. the climate belongs to the north subtropical monsoon humid climate. Qianjiang is an important member of Wuhan urban agglomeration and urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. The county was founded in 965 AD (the third year of Song Qiande). Jianghan Oilfield, one of the top ten oilfields in China, has jurisdiction over 3 provincial-level economic development zones, 6 state-owned farms and 16 towns. It is known as "the hometown of Cao Yu, Jianghan oil city, water garden and hometown of lobster". In 2017, the gross domestic product of Qianjiang City reached 67.186 billion yuan. In June 2017, Qianjiang City was named as a national health city.
