The Kansas City metropolitan area is a bi-state metropolitan area anchored by Kansas City, Missouri. Its 14 counties straddle the border between the U.S. states of Missouri (9 counties) and Kansas (5 counties). With 8,472 square miles (21,940 km2) and a population of more than 2.2 million people, it is the second-largest metropolitan area centered in Missouri (after Greater St. Louis) and is the largest metropolitan area in Kansas, though Wichita is the largest metropolitan area centered in Kansas. Alongside Kansas City, Missouri, these are the suburbs with populations above 100,000: Overland Park, Kansas; Kansas City, Kansas; Olathe, Kansas; Independence, Missouri; and Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Qinnan District, which belongs to Qinzhou City, Guangxi, is located in the center of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region, 100 kilometers north of the capital Nanning, bordering the Beibu Gulf in the north, Beihai City in the east, Fangchenggang City in the west and Qinzhou Port in the south. It is an urban central area of Beibu Gulf (Guangxi) Economic Zone, which integrates many functions and advantages, such as coastal industrial park, coastal cultural tourism resort, Guangxi coastal transportation hub, southwest of China and many other functions and advantages. By the end of 2013, Qinnan District, with a total area of 2255 square kilometers and a population of 560000, had jurisdiction over 12 towns, one overseas Chinese farm and four streets. In 2013, the GDP of Qinnan District reached 16.94 billion yuan, an increase of 14% over the same period last year, ranking first in terms of total volume and growth. Revenue was 540 million yuan, an increase of 16.5% over the same period last year.
