San Diego (/ˌsæn diˈeɪɡoʊ/ SAN dee-AY-goh, Spanish: [san ˈdjeɣo]; Spanish for 'Saint Didacus') is a city on the Pacific Ocean coast of Southern California located immediately adjacent to the Mexico–United States border. With a 2020 population of 1,386,932, it is the eighth most populous city in the United States and the seat of San Diego County, the fifth most populous county in the United States, with 3,338,330 estimated residents as of 2019. The city is known for its mild year-round climate, natural deep-water harbor, extensive beaches and parks, long association with the United States Navy, and recent emergence as a healthcare and biotechnology development center. San Diego is the second largest city in the state of California, after Los Angeles.

Tianshui, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Gansu Province, is located in the southeast of Gansu Province, adjacent to Guanzhong Plain. It is an important node city of Guanzhong Plain Urban agglomeration and the sub-core city of Guanzhong-Tianshui Economic Zone. Tianshui, once known as Shangli, Chengji and Qinzhou, is said to be the birthplace of Fuxi and Nu WA, one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization, known as "the hometown of Emperor Xi". Tianshui has jurisdiction over 2 districts and 5 counties, with a total area of 14325 square kilometers and a total population of 3.829 million, including 3.3549 million permanent residents (2018). Tianshui is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with an elevation of 1000-2100 meters above sea level. The climate is temperate monsoon climate. Tianshui is a famous historical and cultural city in China, an excellent tourist city in China, and one of China's old industrial bases. It has national and provincial enterprise technology centers and engineering.
