San Diego (/ˌsæn diˈeɪɡoʊ/ SAN dee-AY-goh, Spanish: [san ˈdjeɣo]; Spanish for 'Saint Didacus') is a city on the Pacific Ocean coast of Southern California located immediately adjacent to the Mexico–United States border. With a 2020 population of 1,386,932, it is the eighth most populous city in the United States and the seat of San Diego County, the fifth most populous county in the United States, with 3,338,330 estimated residents as of 2019. The city is known for its mild year-round climate, natural deep-water harbor, extensive beaches and parks, long association with the United States Navy, and recent emergence as a healthcare and biotechnology development center. San Diego is the second largest city in the state of California, after Los Angeles.

Zhouning County (ancient Ningde County, Funing Prefecture) belongs to Ningde City, Fujian Province, and is located in the northeast of Fujian Province, between 26 °53 degrees north latitude and 27 °19 degrees east longitude and 119 °06 degrees east longitude. It is bordered by Fu'an in the east, Zhenghe in the west, Shouning in the north, Ningde in the southeast, and Pingnan in the southwest. The total land area is 1047.1 square kilometers. Located in the eastern foot of Jiufeng Mountains, the terrain inclines from northwest to southeast, with an average elevation of 800 meters, and the county seat is more than 880 meters above sea level, ranking first in the province. It is known as the "Alpine Pearl". Zhouning County has jurisdiction over 6 towns, 3 townships and 147administrative villages (communities) with a resident population of 121500 (at the end of 2016).
