San Diego (/ˌsæn diˈeɪɡoʊ/ SAN dee-AY-goh, Spanish: [san ˈdjeɣo]; Spanish for 'Saint Didacus') is a city on the Pacific Ocean coast of Southern California located immediately adjacent to the Mexico–United States border. With a 2020 population of 1,386,932, it is the eighth most populous city in the United States and the seat of San Diego County, the fifth most populous county in the United States, with 3,338,330 estimated residents as of 2019. The city is known for its mild year-round climate, natural deep-water harbor, extensive beaches and parks, long association with the United States Navy, and recent emergence as a healthcare and biotechnology development center. San Diego is the second largest city in the state of California, after Los Angeles.
Xiahe County is a county under the jurisdiction of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Gansu Province, named after the Daxia River. Xiahe County is located in the northwest of Gannan Prefecture, adjacent to Cooperative City and Luqu County in the east and south, Linxia State and Xunhua County and Tongren County in Qinghai to the north, and Zeku County in Qinghai to the west. By 2016, the resident population of Xiahe County was 89500, of which the urban population was 19596. As of 2018, Xiahe County has jurisdiction over 8 towns, 5 townships and 3 township-level units, and the county government is stationed in Labrang Town. In 2017, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Xiahe County reached 1.558 billion yuan, down 3.6 percent from 2016. Of this total, the completed added value of the primary industry was 514 million yuan, up 6.0% over the same period last year; the completed added value of the secondary industry was 122 million yuan, down 10% from the same period last year; and the tertiary industry completed an increase.
